Three Decades Of Fertility Blog Tour

Three Decades of FertilityThis week the Cross Focused Reviewers are participating in a book review blog tour for Three Decades Of Fertility. Excerpts and links to the reviews will appear below as they are available:

“Each chapter in this book is dripping with the mercy of God and really encouraged me that even if the culture says that having more than 4 babies is “weird”, that if God wants my family to be large by today’s standards then I should trust in God alone and not worry about what others around me might think. God is so worthy of our submission and I am thankful for each story in this book that caused me to have a more profound respect for the physical, spiritual, and mental struggles that women go through during their pregnancies and I hope that by being a little bit better educated about those areas that I will be more gracious to my wife if God is kind enough to send us another child to rear up in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord”.”

“Reading through Three Decades of Fertility was a breath of fresh air. These ten women courageously came up against so much of what is the norm in Western culture and philosophy and presented their stories. They were not perfect, as they openly shared, but each strove to glorify God with the family He had granted. They truly did “surrender to the Creator” and I absolutely loved the fact that ten different women, from ten different backgrounds were willing to share their motherhood experiences. These women were everything from military wives to college girls, but each collectively shared the blessedness of sharing Christ through their having large families. What a blessing!”

“I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. It’s radical and compelling. What these women advocate makes sense. But they do not push their biblical conclusions on the reader, they just share their journey with God.”

“Although I have always been used to large families, I wish this book had been around when I became a mom. The authors open up in a way that moms of large families rarely have time for in real life. What a blessing for other moms!”

“I felt as though the women who contributed chapters pulled me up to a coffee table to sit and chat candidly about the topic of motherhood, babies and the idea of having babies into your 40′s. I was in for a treat.”

“This book found me right where I was. In it, I read stories of ten different women, with a similar mindset but on very different paths – military wives, college students, those struggling with infertility, and so on. Their stories of God’s faithfulness, their honesty about the ups & downs of their lives, the details of their pregnancies…it all really spoke to me. There was no “agenda” to make the reader blithely accept all their ideas. I understand I have readers (on my blog) from many different backgrounds so just let me reiterate: these stories are of women – mothers and wives – sharing their hearts, convictions, and beautiful stories. And since the stories are so varied, I think women {of all kinds} could benefit from reading them. I highly encourage you to pick this up if you are on a path similar to these women or if this is just a subject you’re interested in – you won’t regret it!”

“I think mothers will greatly benefit from this book and the encouragement to stay the course in child rearing.  Even more, there is a picture of faith here that is unwavering even through the tough times of life.”

“If you’re in the midst of your childbearing years, you’ll find much encouragement and practical advice here. Older moms will especially be reassured by these stories. And no matter what your convictions on these issues, or what stage of the childbearing years you’re in, I think you’ll enjoy this look into the heart and motivations of ten women who’ve chosen this path.”
