Journible The 17:18 Series: ActsThis week the Cross Focused Reviewers are participating in a book review blog tour for Journible The 17:18 Series: Acts by Rob Wynalda. Excerpts and links to the reviews will appear below as they are available:

“So break out your pencil or pen, open the Book of Acts and start studying the abundance of information that can be gleaned from Acts by using the Acts 17:18 Journible. I am convinced it will do as advertised, namely assisting the believer to write God’s word on the tablet of our hearts.”

“One of the greatest needs for Christians today to learn is how to properly read, study and interpret the Bible, which is why I am happy to recommend this new resource by Reformation Heritage. Whether you are a new or mature Christian, this is a must have resource that will help you to read, study and interpret the Bible better.”

“This series is a great tool for personal Bible Studies or personal devotions. I use this series for both. One thing I enjoy the most out of this series is just writing the Bible verses on the right side and answering questions on the left side without having to use a commentary. It’s just me and God’s word.”

“I would suggest considering copying out the King James Bible, if for no other reason than to familiarize yourself with a translation that has gotten lost in the last forty years in most of evangelicalism.”

“After using the Acts Journible, I came away enjoying the experience. It helps with retention and memory, and is a fun way to delve into the details because you have to write out each and every word. After looking at the price of journals in my local Christian bookstore, the price for each Journible is pretty good, especially since it is hard-backed and has thicker pages to prevent ink bleeding through”

“The greatest asset of the journible is that it is specifically designed to enhance the under-estimated and overlooked discipline of hand-writing the scriptures. One is not only reading the scriptures, but writing the scriptures therefore assuring a double dose of the word.”

“there is something very unique about copying the Scriptures onto the page. Copying the Scriptures develops a bond of solidarity between the reader and the transformative Word of God. ”

“I would highly recommend this book and format for personal use, group studies, and a wide variety of ages (probably ages 12 and up). This format could be a powerful tool for those wishing to study Scripture but also develop skills and aptitude in a foreign language. If you are trying to learn biblical Greek, it would be a valuable way to write out the Greek text and become immersed. Because I am seeking to improve my Spanish, I chose to do my Journible in that language.”

“In all, I liked what I saw in the Acts Journible. Ann and I will probably take a stab at working through one of these when we finished our current devotional material. Basically, if you want to take a steady read through a Biblical section, this is a great tool to have on hand for it.”

“I loved this book and look forward in the future to work on other books of the Bible. I found myself thinking as I write a chapter, “maybe one more page before I take a break.” It is a must buy for anyone who wants to learn or memorize the word.”

“I have never journaled like this before, but it is a very profitable discipline.  I could see how this would be a great gift for a believer who may be used to reading through their Bible, but has never learned how to slow down and actually study their Bible.”

“The 17:18 series equips those of us who will take up the challenge to live out Joshua 1:8. I give this 5 stars!”

“This would make a great gift or addition to one’s personal library. While not a Bible study per se, it is a wonderful tool to delve into the Word of God.”

“The Journible 17:18 Series is a great resource for those who desire to immerse themselves in Scripture and to write out your very own copy of God’s Word.”

“I think that the Acts Journible would be helpful to many people. It would be great for homeschooling, as a Bible study for older children, good for family devotion time, or for a present for someone special.”

“This is not your typical disposable journal. This is a book you can keep for processing later. I can see myself easily referring back to this journal many, many times for Bible study or Sunday school preparation.”

“With The 17:18 Series of journaling books there are much fewer excuses not to journal through your Bible reading experience. The concept is simple and yet profound. The hardback binding ensures the books will last a lifetime so you can pass on the legacy of your journaling experience with your kids and grand kids. Give it time and the benefits will become more clear and experienced. I recommend these books for all Christians – journalers and non-journalers alike.”

“So buy yourself a copy and start writing out the Scriptures for yourself. You will be blessed in ways you never thought of and your notes will be right there alongside of the passage. It is something you can pass down to your family.”

“Here’s why, upon even further reflection, this is such a great idea:

  1. It’s counter-culture in a very good way.
  2. It’s something to hand down to our kids.”

“I have to tell you, this is so exciting to me. I am just so pumped to be using this, because every few months I find myself wrapped up in some Bible study… I highly, highly recommend this series. I’m doing the one in Acts right now because that’s the one I received, but if you look on Amazon you can find everything from Proverbs to Jude.”

“This has helped me tremendously as I study the Bible. Reading it is one thing, even studying it slowly. But hand writing it as I go along has helped me grasp things that I’ve never noticed before… Using the 17:18 series Journible has had an incredible impact on my life. You should try it. You may be surprised at the results.”
